About Us

Prior to starting Top Deck Builders in 1987, Jack Rieke, President, was a custom trim carpenter for a local Libertyville custom home builder. As a top quality craftsman, Jack had the opportunity to trim homes for customers like Mike Ditka and former Bears player Jay Hilgenberg. His quality workmanship also won first place in trim carpentry and deck/gazebo layout and design in the Lake County Tour of Homes.

Branching out to his own business was a decision that evolved from the amount of referrals he was receiving. Jack with his explicit expertise and his wife Tracy an entrepreneur decided to make a go of it and combine their talents. Since starting the business Jack and Tracy have acquired many satisfied customers. They built a morally sound business with a very good reputation in their community.

The mission was to provide top quality workmanship for homeowners to serve their interests and to suit their needs. That mission continues to be a driving force through today. We have always sought out the finest craftsman to work side by side with Jack to provide top quality work we pride ourselves on.

Our projects vary from simple to simply spectacular. We specialize in residential, however we have done work in commercial building as well. We build everything with honesty, integrity, and a solid commitment to quality.
